Canon, Nikon or Sony?
“Nikon.”
What came first, sport or photography?
“Photography. It was schools careers day and I had the morning to think of something, and there was a general photography course at the local college. The sport came when I went to a few football and rugby league games as a project.”
Football memories.
“I don’t do big enough games to miss something that would be considered a big miss! No one likes missing anything, and you do kick yourself on the day. “
First football match photographed?
“Ossett Albion vs. North Ferriby. I got the front page of the Wakefield Express sports section. It was my first published photo, and probably the thing that really got me hooked on sports photography.”
Favourite footballers to work with?
“David Moyes was the easiest. He’s the only football manager to make me a cup of tea! He was Everton manager and things were going well. I might not have got tea if he had been Man Utd manager at the time!.”
Favourite football ground to work at, and why?
“Hull City is a good ground to work at. Nice backgrounds, nice working positions, nice press facilities, big car park and it’s at the end of a very empty road!”
