Canon, Nikon or Sony?
“I have used Nikon equipment my whole career starting with Nikon FM and F2, although when I first got into photography I used Olympus OM system.”
What came first, sport or photography?
“Definitely the sport, although as a Leeds United fan I was ‘treated’ to Bradford City and Bradford Park Avenue matches on alternate weekend’s by my Grandad who had season tickets for both teams before going to Leeds United games with school pals in the 1970’s.”
Working football memories.
“Following Leeds United’s UEFA Champions League campaign in 2000-01 when they reached the semi-finals stage, visiting Rome, Milan, Moscow and La Coruna.”
First football match you photographed as a professional?
“I wish I could remember the First football match I ever photographed, it would have been a small club like Farsley Celtic before covering Football League clubs for the Yorkshire Post.
In those early days we would only cover the first half of some night matches before going back to the office and handing films over to the darkroom technicians for processing and contact sheeting.”
Favourite football ground to work at, and why?
“My favourite football ground to work at has to be Elland Road. It’s just full of fond memories for me over the last 50 years, from going as a teenage fan in the 1970’s and watching the great Don Revie team of Bremner, Charlton, Lorimer, Hunter etc.”
Biggest Lesson Learnt in the business?
“Be prepared for the weather changing!”
